October 8, 2020 | Important Message Regarding COVID Guidelines and Off Campus Activities

Dear Students,

Thanks to all of you who have been following the CDC and RVU Communicable Disease safety guidelines both on and off campus.   The pandemic is far from over and your ongoing vigilance is appreciated.   Unfortunately, we continue to see examples of students who are meeting or socializing after-hours while ignoring safety guidelines, and also posting such activities on Social Media.   We know that the majority of our students are doing their best to keep themselves and others safe, but I feel the need to underscore this serious issue.   Beyond the basic safety concerns, our reputation with our community training partners is at risk as they observe RVU students ignoring our own COVID guidelines.  The RVU Code of Conduct clearly states that “Students will not interfere with the rights, safety, or health of members of the University community...”   This is a professionalism issue and Student Affairs will investigate and respond to any online or in-person examples of disregarding these guidelines.

Thank you for taking this matter seriously.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tom Told
