Articulate Volume 1 Cover

RVU’s New Journal Celebrates the Integration of Art and Science in Healthcare

Rocky Vista University is proud to announce the launch of Articulate, an innovative academic journal that celebrates the confluence of art, science, and healthcare. Founded in 2023 with the support of the Medical Humanities Department and University administration, Articulate aims to showcase the healthcare community’s scientific, artistic, and humanistic endeavors to foster interdisciplinarity, creativity, and collaboration in medicine.

Articulate provides a platform for publishing original articles, research, and impactful creative works with the hope that this unique format will foster dialogues around healthcare policy and education topics. The interdisciplinary nature of this journal invites contributors with diverse perspectives to explore the intersection of their personal and professional identities.  The multidisciplinary format of Articulate reflects RVU’s commitment to a holistic approach to healthcare education, valuing the intersectionality of healthcare professionals – seeing them not only as scientists but also as storytellers, artists, and innovative thinkers. Contribute to Articulate today and participate in an inclusive, dynamic conversation about the future of healthcare.

Articulate welcomes a variety of submissions, including:

  • Research Articles and Literature Reviews: Traditional scholarly contributions exploring key healthcare topics.
  • Case Reports and Advocacy: Works that address ethical dilemmas, advocacy, and unique patient experiences.
  • Arts and Humanities: Creative expressions such as photography, painting, poetry, multimedia, and reflective essays that capture the humanity of healthcare.

Articulate increases accessibility to publication and provides a supportive platform for emerging scholars by focusing on the quality of submissions rather than the significance of results. For students, in particular, it offers an opportunity to bolster their CVs, gain experience with publication practices, and engage in reflective practices that enhance identity formation.
