Rocky Vista University Appoints Dr. David Forstein as President


Rocky Vista University (RVU) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Forstein, DO, FACOOG, as President.

Dr. Forstein, who joined RVU as the University’s Inaugural Provost in November 2020, will succeed Dr. Clint Adams, who will be retiring as President at the end of the 2021 academic year.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Forstein will be guiding RVU as we continue our leadership in osteopathic medical education and work to meet the need for skilled medical professionals,” said Maha Sallam, PhD, Board Chair for Rocky Vista University. “He has demonstrated remarkable leadership over the last six months and played an integral role in furthering RVU’s academic excellence, campus expansion efforts, and diversity, equity, and inclusion program developments. With a proven track record of success and dedication to championing RVU’s mission, we are confident Dr. Forstein is ideally suited to drive the University’s next phase of growth.”

Dr. Sallam added, “We are grateful for Dr. Adams’ leadership over the last six years in helping to establish RVU as a clear leader in osteopathic medical education, and we wish him well in his retirement.”

As a renowned leader in the world of osteopathic medical education, Dr. Forstein has spent his career working with students, faculty, and staff to help advance medical careers. Prior to his time at RVU, Dr. Forstein most recently served as Dean and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine – Harlem, New York Campus. He has also served as Residency Director and Associate Professor of OB/GYN at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Greenville, as Clerkship Director at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), and as Vice-Chair of Clinical Operations for the department of OB/GYN at the Greenville Health System.

Dr. Forstein is currently the Chair of the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.  He is Board-certified in both OBG/GYN and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
