Terri Blevins, Ed.D.: Dr. Blevins joins RVU-MCOM as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Equity from the University of Colorado after completing her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Iowa. Dr. Blevins has been in medical education for 15 years, coming to us from the University of Illinois College of Medicine where she was the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs on the Rockford campus, following 8 years in a similar position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. Her roots are in osteopathic medicine, though, as her first position in medical education was with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has served in multiple leadership roles at the national level, serving as the Chair of The Central Group on Student Affairs at the AAMC from 2020-2021, and on the Careers in Medicine National Advisory Board in 2014-16. Dr. Blevins is an avid hiker, hiking over 50 miles in the Rocky Mountains last summer.
