Cindy Funk, Ph.D. joins Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine as a Professor of Anatomy. Dr. Funk received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Montana State University and her Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology from Texas A&M University. She then pursued postdoctoral research, in the field of addiction neurobiology, at the Scripps Research Institute. Prior to joining MCOM, Dr. Funk was a member of the founding faculty at the RVU-COM Parker campus and later at Burrell COM in New Mexico. Dr. Funk is passionate about utilizing and developing best practices for teaching anatomical sciences. She is a Fellow of the Costin Institute for Osteopathic Medical Educators. In addition to teaching, Dr. Funk enjoys participating in medical education research and translational anatomical research. On a personal note, Dr. Funk grew up on a farm along the Yellowstone River between Laurel and Billings, MT. She loves traveling the world with her husband and son. However, her favorite place will always be the Beartooth Mountains. She is excited to finally be home again.
