Brian D. Schwartz, PhD, MLIS, is the Director of Library Services and Associate Professor of Medical Humanities at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a graduate of the University of Kansas, University of Denver, and Emporia State University.
Dr. Schwartz has published in Medical Reference Services Quarterly, Colorado Libraries and Distance Learning, Frontiers in Public Health, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and others. He has presented at conferences for AACOM, The Gold Foundation for the Medical Humanities, Association of Library and Information Science Educators, the Medical Librarian Association, Colorado Council of Medical Libraries and Colorado Association of Libraries, OPTI-West research day, and RVU Diversity Week, and received grant funding from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
His academic interests include the confluence of evidence-based medicine and information literacy, as well as problem-solving and information-seeking processes, medical humanities, and the application of educational theory.
