January 21, 2022 | CRT Get Boosted Challenge

By Kristen Kaiser | Jan 21, 2022 | Comments Off on January 21, 2022 | CRT Get Boosted Challenge

January 20, 2022 | CRT Update Hello RVU Students, The COVID-19 Response Team is issuing a challenge to all students to Get Boosted and Fight COVID! If you have already been boosted, upload a PDF of your vaccination card to SentryMD here by February 11th. The booster shot plays an important role in preventing unnecessary absences from both work and school due to quarantine. As an example let’s look at two cases: Student A has been vaccinated with two doses of the Moderna vaccine with the last dose given 6 months ago.  If student A is exposed to someone with COVID-19, he would have to quarantine for 5 days. This quarantine would be avoided with a booster shot. Student B has been vaccinated with two doses of Moderna vaccine followed by a booster shot 5 months later. If student B is exposed to someone with COVID-19, she does not have to quarantine. No missed labs or makeup exams. The most recent CDC recommendations regarding COVID-19 booster shots can be found here or by scanning the QR code below. Looking for a vaccination site? Check out state resources for Colorado here and for Southern Utah here. Please submit a PDF of your vaccination […]

January 20, 2022 | CRT Update Dear RVU Family, The COVID-19 Response Team (CRT) met yesterday to discuss our phased mitigation strategy to keep our community safe during the Omicron surge. Due to high community transmission rates, the safety standards issued on December 29, 2021 will remain in place through February 4th.  As a reminder these standards are: Safety Standards A mask mandate for all indoor public spaces on campus will be enforced. Please wear a surgical, N-95, KN-95, or similar mask to protect yourself and others around you. In the past week, we have seen this relaxed a bit and want to urge you to please be vigilant in wearing a mask while on campus. For those who are fully vaccinated (please see below for additional information), masks may be removed in private offices or study rooms when studying alone. Faculty and staff who have been working remotely (with their manager’s permission) are encouraged to continue doing so. Only two students maximum per study room. Fitness centers will remain closed. While meetings can be held in person, no food will be permitted and masks will be required. If you have any symptoms of COVID or experience a positive exposure, stay home […]
