May 29, 2020 | Update from COVID-19 Response Team Dear RVU Family, We hope that everyone had a safe, relaxing Memorial Day and a good rest of the week. Here are some important messages, reminders and updates: Moment of silence. Sadly, COVID-19 has claimed in excess of 100,000 deaths in the U.S. including 1,168 losses in Colorado and 106 in Utah. We ask that you consider taking a moment of silence today to reflect as our RVU Community grieves for these many lost lives and all those personally affected by this tragedy. The state of states. Some states have increasing numbers of new cases, some have a steady number of new cases (including UT), and some states have declining numbers of new cases (including CO). May 22, 2020 | Update from the COVID-19 Response Team Dear RVU Family, We hope that everyone had another safe, healthy, and productive week of telecommuting and virtual learning. Here are a few highlights, reminders and updates from this week: CO update. Colorado is still at the Level of Safer-at-Home. The governor is asking everyone to wear a non-medical cloth face covering while out in public for necessary activities like grocery shopping. Please make or buy a face covering that will cover your mouth and nose and use it whenever you are outside your own house or yard. Wash your face covering regularly. UT update. Almost all of Utah is at the Low Risk Yellow Phase.  The guidelines include groups of 50 or fewer, maintaining 6 feet, and using face coverings in pubic if social distancing is difficult. FEMA Crisis Counseling for Stress and Anxiety related to Pandemic. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved four states, including Colorado & Utah, with crisis counseling programs for state residents struggling with stress and anxiety as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. As the end of the week is upon us, here are a few updates: Colorado Governor Polis issued an executive order to transition from Stay-at-Home to Safer-at-Home early this week. This new phase allows reopening of certain businesses in the state including Douglas county. However, Stay-at-Home orders are still in effect until Friday, May 8th for Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, and Jefferson counties. Utah Governor Herbert issued an executive order deescalating Utah from the High Risk Red Level to the Moderate Risk Orange Level effective today. Click here to learn more about this. “A Mask for Every Utahn” is an initiative by the state in partnership with the Utah Manufacturers Association to provide free masks to state residents. April 28, 2020 | Update from COVID-19 Response Team Dear RVU Family, We hope this email finds you and your loved ones in good health as we surpass the one million mark of COVID-19 cases in the United States. Our team continues to meet daily. A summary of recent updates and initiatives is as follows: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published the following updated COVID-19  symptoms checklist: Cough and shortness of breath plus two of any of the following: Fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss or taste or smell This week Colorado has transitioned to a Level 2: Safer at Home status. This means Coloradans are strongly advised to stay at home although they are no longer ordered to do so. Utah is expected to follow on May 1. Colorado’s Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) has launched a symptom checker which you can use to report your symptoms. If you share your information with the CDPHE, you will be provided with resources to help manage your symptoms and with information regarding how to get tested and to access medical care and services if necessary. Early Graduation Scheduled for Rocky Vista University’s Class of 2020 [April 23, 2020] As the number of novel coronavirus cases continue to peak in various parts of the United States, the need for a robust healthcare workforce has become more important now than ever before. Taking this into consideration, and our students innate drive to help during this time of crisis, Rocky Vista University (RVU) has moved forward with allowing early graduation for fourth-year students in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. In lieu of an in-person celebration, RVU will host a virtual Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 1st, during which 152 osteopathic medical students will officially receive their Degree of Osteopathic Medicine. April 21, 2020 | Update from the COVID-19 Response Team Dear RVU Family, Today marks the 3-month time period of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the United States, recorded on January 21, 2020 in Washington State. Unfortunately, the number of reported cases and deaths remain high with no definitive signs of rounding the outbreak peak. It is sad to see millions of Americans being so negatively impacted by this pandemic physically, mentally, and financially. كيف ربح المال The brewing of negative emotions during a long lasting crisis is not unnatural and often includes feelings of depression, frustration, anger, and impatience.
