Message from the Provost | Recognition of Juneteenth

By Kristen Kaiser | Jun 19, 2021 | Comments Off on Message from the Provost | Recognition of Juneteenth

Message from the Provost | Recognition of Juneteenth [June 18, 2021 – Parker, CO] Dear RVU family, As we continue on our journey and understanding around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, I wanted to take a moment to think about Juneteenth.  I have heard about Juneteenth, and had some vague notion as to what it was, but was never taught about it in school, even as a political science major in college.  One of the benefits that has come out of the tragedy of systemic racism caught on cell phones and body-cams in recent years is that it has provided me, and hopefully each of us,  with the opportunity to learn. Over the past few days I have heard about Juneteenth on the radio, tv news, and have read many articles about it.  For those of you, who like me, didn’t know much about it – here is a brief synopsis.  During the Civil War, and especially after the emancipation proclamation of 1863, many southerners sought to evade following the order by moving enslaved people to Texas.  In the summer of 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston and freed more than 250,000 black Americans.  All enslaved people in American […]

June 18 2021 | CRT Update June 18, 2021 Dear RVU Family: We are closing in on Green! Thank you to everyone who complied with uploading their proof of vaccination. We are almost at our required 85% threshold for moving more toward normal. With everyone’s help, we can be there by July 1 or possibly even sooner. So what’s so great about Phase Green? No more filling out the attestation form each morning prior to coming to campus Masks will not be required (we can see each other’s smiling faces) There will be no more social distancing requirements We can resume in-person meetings, small group, and extracurricular activities, etc. It will feel normal again The CRT is monitoring compliance rates regularly for employees and students across both locations. The CRT Town Hall will be rescheduled shortly to provide additional information on where we are with compliance and what to expect as we transition to Phase Green. If you have been fully vaccinated but have not yet uploaded your card, please do so to help us get closer to our goal. If you have not been vaccinated, please plan on doing so unless you have received an approved exemption. Thank you […]

Everyone is encouraged to attend as important information will be shared in preparation to transition to Phase Green. Vaccinations – Moving on up! By Kristen Kaiser | Jun 8, 2021 | Comments Off on Office of Research and Scholarly Activity: Qualtrics has arrived!

Office of Research and Schloary Activity: Qualtrics has arrived! I am happy to announce that RVU has purchased an institutional license for Qualtrics survey software for research.  In order to access Qualtrics when you are ready to perform a survey, you will need to request an account through iNet (under forms for either faculty/staff or students).  On the form, you will be asked for a brief description of your project as well as the IRB approval of your survey (if necessary).  Once the form is submitted, please allow for 2 days to receive your login information.  Information about how to convert a Survey Monkey survey to Qualtrics is attached for your information.  The Qualtrics site also has some excellent tutorials for your benefit.  Finally, the Qualtrics team will be doing a short training for RVU this summer (the time is still to be determined). Amanda Brooks, PhD Director of Research and Scholarly Activity Transitioning to Qualtrics (https://confluence.unwsp.edu/display/IKB/Transitioning+to+Qualtrics) The transition from Survey Monkey to Qualtrics will involve exporting surveys and data from Survey Monkey, which can subsequently be imported into Qualtrics.  The other aspect of the transition is to transfer currently running surveys and data from paid Survey Monkey subscriptions to […]
